    Jiofibre not working for 2 days. Jio app assigned engineer for 7th July. Monopoly in Uttorayan township Matigara Siliguri. No nearby mobile towers also. BSNL connectivity Nil. Jio sporadic. Very very bad connectivity and service. Your attention is needed. @AshwiniVaishnaw

    Price must be increased by 20%-30% atleast by Jio/ Airtel. They are providing very good network. Those can't afford can switch to BSNL.

    @IndianGems_ If the government really cared, they would offer a basic plan in BSNL. It already has PAN India 2g network and it's adequate for calls. But no, they just divert you towards the corporate to save their ***.

    Villages were a different story. Sparse populations spread over large areas meant high costs and low returns. Private operators had little reason to fund a rural build-out. BSNL did lay some fibre, but it usually ended at the local telephone exchange. From there, connections ran over old copper wire, which carries a weaker signal the further it travels.

    @krish29399 Most PSUs have very limited hiring now. BSNL used to have 180,000 employees 2 decades ago. Now, it is reduced to below 60,000. Same activity is happening in other PSUs. Slowly but overall headcount of PSUs are going down.

    @Vidyut Affordable - yes, service reliability (at least for BSNL, never experienced MTNL) was not so reliable. If one faced issues, they were at the mercy of babus.
