@talk2anuradha The telecom provider in current times Airtel Jio BSNL Vi (vodaphone idea) Choose out of 4. We are paying for the service (best or second best) not because telecom is a duopoly.

@dhruv_rathee Government will make this like this is Indigo problem. Like they don't take part in regulation. Media will shifts the narrative to capitalist, but question is how a Airline got 65 % share of market. Who helped them to get it. BSNL forgot to charge Jio. Kuch samajh aaya.

Even in telecom sector there is duopoly. There is airtel whose services are more or less satisfactory but if you want another service provider you only hv Jio or Vodafone both of which are several notches below airtel. Also BSNL has nil data connectivity.

@mohitlaws Telecom before 2014: Airtel | Vodafone | Idea | BSNL | Aircel | Uninor | Tata Docomo | MTS | Reliance | Videocon Telecom after 2016: Jio | Airtel | Vi (barely) What really destroyed most of the old telecom players? 👉 A flawed UPA-era policy: 122 2G licences granted in 2008 at 2001 prices, via a “first-come, first-served” process — no auction, basically gifting away spectrum. 👉 Unchecked entry + underpriced spectrum + legal uncertainty => massive financial & regulatory chaos (many firms lost licences or sank under debt). 👉 So by the time competitive pressure came (entry of Jio, need for big investment, data-driven tariffs, 4G/4G+ rollout), only a handful – with deep pockets and scale — could survive. Result: It wasn’t just “Modi/victory/market-war” that killed the rest. The structural damage was already done by earlier policy mistakes.

For the last 5 days Bsnl is not working, no incoming, no outgoing & not even data are working in khordha circle Odisha. Looks like you want to favour some private players, certainly many must have switched. What's happening @BSNLCorporate

@iNitinTyagi Sir, you must be using a BSNL SIM card. You must be sending your kids to a government school. Isn't it? I will still support privatization. The kind of ego and laziness government employees have, no one else can match."
