BSNL Quantum 5G FWA is a wireless internet service that gives you high-speed connectivity similar to broadband or fiber, but without needing cables or a SIM card—it uses 5G signals to deliver internet straight to your home or office. It’s different from traditional fiber broadband because there’s no physical wiring involved; you just get a device (CPE) that connects to BSNL’s 5G network and provides WiFi at home, so it’s super handy for places where laying fiber isn’t possible or convenient. Right now, it’s mainly focused on data (no voice calls), and the plans start at ₹999/month for up to 100 Mbps, with higher speeds available at higher prices. So, you get fiber-like speeds and reliability, but through wireless 5G tech instead of cables—think of it as a modern alternative to both broadband and fiber, especially useful in areas where fiber can’t reach easily.

@pradhanajay358 It's not that hard to guess. Still the 3G coverage is better than its 4G counterpart so shutting down immediately would cause connectivity issues considering that BSNL's 4G itself is not stable. 3G will not go away until 4G is perfect and expanded to total 2L sites.

@bsnl_tt If we are not getting good signal during travelling to new places then how can we use maps ? How can solely trust on BSNL network. Fix this problem then you will see more people switch to BSNL. Let me share one more experience with you. I requested Bharat fiber via bsnl self care

@efile_tax @IndianTechGuide My office has bsnl broadband and it is surprisingly cheap and reliable. Even when something goes wrong, they fix it on the same day usually

There’s actually no real “quantum technology” (as in quantum computing or quantum encryption) used in BSNL’s Quantum 5G FWA—the “Quantum” name is just branding to highlight a big leap in speed and convenience. The tech powering this service is advanced 5G with a SIM-less, direct-to-device authentication system, a fully indigenous hardware/software stack, and gigabit-class wireless speeds, but nothing here involves quantum mechanics or quantum communications. So, scientifically speaking, the “quantum” part is just a catchy name—what’s new is the SIM-free setup, Indian-made 5G core and radio, and easy plug-and-play internet, not actual quantum breakthroughs.

The claim about BSNL's Quantum 5G FWA service appears accurate. It was soft-launched on June 18, 2025, in Hyderabad, offering SIM-less, high-speed internet starting at ₹999/month for up to 100 Mbps, with a ₹1,499 plan for up to 300 Mbps. The service is fully indigenous, aimed at Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, but is currently limited to Hyderabad, with expansion planned by September 2025. Real-world speeds may vary, and availability should be checked locally.
