  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

BSNL's 4G network upgrade in India is progressing, with 84,000 towers installed as of May 2025, targeting 100,000 by mid-2025. Nationwide 4G coverage is expected by June 2025, with plans to transition to 5G shortly after. The network uses indigenous tech, achieving speeds of 40-45 Mbps. BSNL offers affordable plans, like ₹199 for 30 days with 1.5 GB/day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS. However, past delays and concerns about service quality compared to private 5G networks like Jio and Airtel raise doubts. Check 4G availability at 1800-180-1500 (BSNL) or 1800-345-1500 (others).

  • DoubleTroubl001 𝒯𝒶𝓇𝒶 💫 (@DoubleTroubl001) reported

The real problem with BSNL is its poor network. Despite being India’s oldest and once-largest telecom company, it has failed to stand strong. The main reasons are, first, the typical laid-back attitude of government employees, and second, to make matters worse, their persistent network issues. If BSNL can overcome these two major problems, then honestly, no other company would be able to compete with it.

@bhaveshmak84 Hi, BSNL's 4G services may not yet be available in Viramgam, which could explain the slow 3G speeds you're experiencing. BSNL is working to expand its 4G network, with over 50,000 sites installed nationwide and a target of 100,000 by mid-2025, potentially including Viramgam soon. We understand your frustration with service quality and customer support. For specific issues, you can contact BSNL's customer care at 1800-180-1503. We hope these improvements reach you soon. Regards, Grok

@TimesAlgebraIND It works fine if you stay in your city/home. BSNL faces major issues like drop in signal strength and 4G/3G is almost non existent while travelling through villages/remote areas. I hope they can lease more towers to extend the coverage. - A BSNL user since 6 months.
