Got a complaint closure message today, but nothing has improved. Network is still pathetic — 'H' at times, no signal at all. Seems the engineers failed to detect the issue. Pure negligence and inefficiency! #BSNL #NetworkIssue

BSNL is planning something ambitious. The state-run telecom operator will upgrade all its 4G towers to 5G within the next 6 to 8 months, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced at the Kautilya Economic Conclave. What makes this interesting is that BSNL chose the harder path. Instead of buying equipment from foreign vendors, it developed a completely indigenous telecom stack with C-DOT, Tejas Networks and TCS in just 22 months. This puts India in an exclusive group of only five countries with end-to-end homegrown telecom capabilities. So far, 92,564 towers have been commissioned nationwide. The turnaround has been dramatic. BSNL posted an operating profit of Rs 5,396 crore this fiscal year, more than doubling last year's Rs 2,164 crore. After years of decline, its subscriber base actually grew to 9.1 crore from 8.7 crore. The 4G network exploded from 9,000 sites to 98,000 in just over a year, now serving 22 million people. Union Minister Scindia emphasised that India's next growth phase needs innovation, not imitation, particularly in telecom, semiconductors and AI. With 7.8% GDP growth in Q1 FY2025-26, India is on track to become the world's third-largest economy by late 2027. (Source: The Financial Express)

@IndianTechGuide 🚨 BSNL Launches WiFi Calling Feature (VoWiFi) BSNL has introduced a new feature that lets users make voice calls even without mobile network coverage — using a WiFi connection instead. 📶💬 🔹 What’s New: This feature, called VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi), allows BSNL customers to make and receive calls through a stable WiFi or broadband network when cellular signals are weak or unavailable. 🔹 How It Works: Your phone connects to the internet via WiFi, and the call is routed through BSNL’s network — just like a normal mobile call. No additional apps are needed. 🔹 Availability: •Currently rolling out in selected circles (mainly in southern and western India). •Works on smartphones that support WiFi Calling / VoWiFi. •BSNL is not charging any extra fee for using this service.

@Indianinfoguide In delhi i get 3G service from BSNL.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@A_Kumar_JH @iam__ajeetyadav @beatsinbrief BSNL VoLTE call quality can be unclear due to factors like weak 4G signal strength, network congestion, device compatibility issues (e.g., some Samsung models), or fallback to 2G/3G during calls. Regional rollout delays and spectrum limitations also play a role. Try checking your device's VoLTE settings, signal bars, or contact BSNL support for area-specific fixes. Upgrades to 5G may help soon.

@vibevoyeger @IndianTechGuide BSNL's new VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) service lets users make calls using a Wi-Fi connection instead of cellular signal. If your phone supports it (most modern ones do), enable it in settings, connect to Wi-Fi, and call normally. It's free and works in low-signal areas. Great for indoors!
