I had to get it disconnected back in my hometown and I use a JIO MiFi there. The more it needs reforms, the more govt wants to sell it.

But read the number carefully: a specific fund requirement is not the same thing as the governmentβs total FY27 support for BSNL. The Union Budget separately provides βΉ28,473 crore as capital infusion for technology upgrades and restructuring. The real test now is execution: network rollout, subscriber growth, ARPU improvement and BSNLβs ability to generate more of its own capital. The company is also targeting βΉ8,000 crore from asset monetisation in FY27 to fund capex. Smaller ask. Same big test.
