How much time you need to activate anew sim-seems a week isn't enough? Should I try another service provider- they can do it in 1 day?

My appointment was scheduled for today between 8:00-9:00 PM but customer care representative (named Ritika) rescheduled the appointment to 9th June. If my issue is not resolved by today EOD then only option for me to change the service provider.
